All hallow's read boomark

First, this is a photomanipulation. My first one, in fact. But I put it in my Digital Drawings and Paintings folder because I painted most of it (Salomon and then the ground texture is the only photomanipulative elements or whatever it's called)
All right, there's a tradition called All Hallow's Read, which basically means that you give someone a scary book in the week of Halloween, or on the day/evening. And there's a little contest where you have to design a bookmark, and with my newly discovered love for the gloomy and demonic, I couldn't resist. And I got Salomon home a few days ago, yaaay! So naturally he had to play model, and I decided to try out photomanipulating.
At first, I had a jack o' lantern and some more plague butterflies, but Salomon was too hard to pick out from the background, so had to kill some darlings.

EDIT: Oh, and by the way! The books standing on the shelves are The Witches by Roald Dahl (red book w/ red lettering) Coraline by Neil Gaiman (Ivory-like book with brown letters), Firebird by Nicole Boyle Rødtnes (Red book with simple golden letters and the Deadchildren mark on the back), The Shadowgate by Lene Kaaberbøl (Brown book w/ black letters) and then I ran out of titles on scary books, so I added one named Hunger (green one at top) named after Awesomesam (=wondering-souls )'s short story, Hunger, and Pahantekijä by Miia Kontinen (~The-Vol on dA) who is not a book even though it looks like one, but it is definitely scary enough to qualify, so it got a spot. Also, the only one who actually looks like the real book does. Ah, well ...
